Abstract

Large angle scattering of ¹⁶O by ^24,25,26Mg has been observed by measuring the reactions ^24,25,26Mg(¹⁶O,^24,25,26Mg) ¹⁶O in the forward direction. Although the cross section magnitudes for ²⁴Mg are 5 to 10 times larger than for ^25,26Mg, excitation functions for all three elastic scattering reactions show similar resonance-like gross structure for incident energies between 45 and 59 MeV.
