Abstract
Fission probability distributions of and compound systems have been measured with the (, ) reaction in the excitation energy range of 7-16 MeV using 65 MeV projectiles. Identification of as two highly correlated alpha particles showed that under the conditions of this experiment can be separated from in a simple system. The results are in good agreement with fission probabilities derived from neutron induced fission of and .
