Abstract

Elastic scattering of Mg24(Ne20,Ne20)Mg24 at Elab=50,60,80,90,and 100 MeV was measured in an angular range of 10°<θc.m.<75°. Results were compared with optical model calculations for a variety of optical model potentials. Predictions of the liquid drop, proximity, and folding models were also examined. Reduced absorption and He4 cluster exchange phenomena are discussed. Total reaction and fusion cross sections are extracted. The volume integrals of potentials were applied in the optical potential ambiguity treatment and for classifying purposes.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Mg24(Ne20,Ne20); E=50,60,80,90,and 100 MeV; measured σ(θ), deduced optical model parameters; applied volume integrals of optical potentials; extracted reaction and fusion cross sections.
