Abstract
An exact method to obtain the wave function of the neutron-deuteron system at energies below the breakup threshold is presented. The scattering length and the effective range are calculated in the case of three local potentials. The quantity as a function of energy is given for one of these interactions. As for the triton case, realistic potentials are unable to cope completely with experimental data.
NUCLEAR REACTIONS , MeV (cold neutrons); calculated scattering length and effective range; wave function also obtained.
