Abstract

The levels in 87Y up to an excitation energy of 2.4 MeV have been studied via the 87Sr(p, nγ) reaction at incident proton energies from 2.9 to 5.3 MeV. The γ-ray excitation functions, the conversion electrons and the angular distributions of the γ-rays were measured. The analysis yielded Jπ for the excited levels of 87Y and the transition multipolarities. The energies of the levels were deduced with an accuracy better than ±0.5 keV. The spins and parities of IAR in 88Y were assigned from the analyses of the analogue resonances in the excitation functions.
