Abstract

Differential cross sections are reported for π+ + He3,4 elastic scattering at 260, 295, and 310 MeV and π + He3,4 at 295 MeV. The angular distributions (except for π + He3) confirm the fixed angle (θ75°) minimum seen at lower energies [caused by the (3,3) π+N resonance dominance] and show a deep minimum at θ110°. Comparisons are made to π+d and the current discussion of pion excitation of intermediate dibaryon and ΔN states.
