Abstract

Excitation functions for C12(O16, O16)C12 elastic and inelastic scattering have been measured in the energy range 23Ec.m.32 MeV. Two strong structures at Ec.m.=25.5 and 29.6 MeV are observed in the C12 + O16(3,6.13 MeV) exit channel; angular correlation measurements at these energies suggest spin assignments of 15 and 16+, respectively.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12(O16, O16*)C12*; Ec.m.=2332 MeV, θc.m.(O16)=130°155°; measured σ(E) angular correlations.
