On the determination of the π3He3He coupling on the basis of PCAC

Abstract

It is shown that the determination of pion-nucleus coupling constants on the basis of PCAC is highly dependent on the prescription for the extrapolation of certain form factors to the pion pole. The extrapolation based on analyticity arguments leads to the value f2( pi 3He3He)2=0.053+or-0.014 indicating the presence of shadowing effects in the nucleus.
