Abstract

The decay of 0.27 s In131 to levels in the single hole nucleus Sn131 have been studied using an on-line isotope separator. The s12 and g72 levels are found at 332.8 and 2433 keV excitation, respectively. The Qβ of In131 has been determined to be 8.82±0.20 MeV. To complete the series of heavy odd-mass isotopes of Sn, levels in the Sn127,129 nuclei, which are populated in the decay of In127,129 also have been studied. Decay schemes are proposed for the decay of two In127 isomers of half-lives 1.15±0.05 s and 3.7±0.1 s and for the decay of two In129 isomers of half-lives 0.59±0.03 s and 1.20±0.05 s. Low lying negative parity states of three quasiparticle character have been observed in Sn127,129 where μs isomers due to the low energy h112 orbit are also suggested.
