Aligned octupole bands in deformed N = 90 and N = 92 nuclei

Abstract

Negative-parity yrast bands in N = 90 and N = 92 nuclei are shown to be octupole bands with a constant degree of alignment. This implies a dominance of two-quasiproton configurations in the octupole structure of these nuclei.
