Abstract

The electromagnetic effects connected with the muon radiating diagram in radiative muon capture in nuclei are discussed. The non-relativistic Schrödinger equation, reproducing with a very good accuracy the muonic ground-state properties, i.e., binding energies and effective charges Zeff, is shown to be adequate for the bound muon. The effects of the extended nuclear Coulomb field on the muon propagator are considered, and an explicit solution is worked out for the high-energy region of the photon spectrum.
