Abstract

Yields of projectile fragments have been measured at 0° for the reaction of 205-MeV/nucleon Ar40 ions on an 860-mg-cm2 carbon target. Mass resolution was achieved using a combination of magnetic analysis and energy-loss measurements. The isotopes Ne28 and Al35 have been observed for the first time.
