General expression are derived for all possible even and odd order tensor orientations of recoil nuclei, recoiling into the forward (or backward) hemisphere in the reaction ${\mu }^{-}+A(J_i=0)\to B(J_f\ge 1)+{\nu }_{\mu }$. Numerical results are presented for the case of muon capture by ${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$.
