Orientations of the recoil nucleus in muon capture

Abstract

General expression are derived for all possible even and odd order tensor orientations of recoil nuclei, recoiling into the forward (or backward) hemisphere in the reaction μ+A(Ji=0)B(Jf1)+νμ. Numerical results are presented for the case of muon capture by O16.
