Abstract

He2 energy spectra were obtained for the (d,He2) reaction on targets of Li6, B10, and C12 at Ed=55 MeV in a kinematically complete coincidence measurement of two protons with small relative energies. Projected proton-energy spectra show an enhancement of the cross section over phase space due to the final-state interaction between two protons in a relative S01 state. He2 angular distributions were found to be in reasonable agreement with predictions of microscopic distorted-wave Born-approximation calculations using spectroscopic amplitudes derived from intermediate-coupling wave functions.
