Abstract

Employing the technique of nuclear magnetic resonance on oriented nuclei, the magnetic moments of the ground states of 1231 and 125I have been measured as μ = 2.818±0.007 n.m. and μ = 2.821±0.005 n.m. respectively. From the angular distribution of the radiation proceeding from the oriented 123I nuclei, spins were assigned for 123Te levels at 784 keV (I = 32) and 688 keV (I = 52). In addition, values of the E2/M1 multipole mixing ratios were deduced. The results are compared to theoretical predictions.
