Abstract

The (α,αp) reaction on H2, Li6, and F19 has been studied with 140 MeV α particles. Energy spectra for the ground state transition are presented at one angle pair for H2 and F19, and three angle pairs for Li6. Distorted-wave impulse-approximation calculations provide good fits to the H2 data, the F19 data, and data at one angle pair for Li6. The other two angle pairs for Li6 show significant deviations from the distorted-wave impulse-approximation suggesting contributions from processes more complicated than those included in the distorted-wave impulse-approximation.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS H2, Li6, F19(α,αp), Eα=140 MeV; measured (Ep, Eα, θp, θα); DWIA analysis; deduced spectroscopic factors.
