Abstract

Cross sections, d2σdΩdT, on C12, Ca40,44,48 are presented for inclusive (π+,π) and (π,π+) reactions at an incident energy of Tπ=290 MeV with the exit pions detected over an energy range of Tπ=175255 MeV at an angle of 60°. These cross sections are found to vary systematically with reported proton-neutron differences in nuclear radial distributions.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12, Ca40,44,48 (π±,π); measured d2σdΩdT, T=290 MeV, θ=60°, nondiscrete final states; discussed the sensitivity to proton-neutron differences.
