Abstract

Particle-γ angular correlations with forty C12 angles for a fixed γ angle have been measured for the reaction C12(C12, C12)C12*(4.44 MeV) over the energy range 14.5<~Ec.m.<~32 MeV. Satisfactory agreement with a large body of experimental data is obtained using a simple distorted-wave Born-approximation calculation without introducing the idea of "quasimolecular" resonances.
