Abstract

A direct knockout model is developed for intermediate energy inclusive nuclear reactions involving the emission of light fragments in the backward hemisphere. In particular, the model is applied to the A(p,α)X reactions where A=Be9, Al27, andAg. Predictions are made for the (p,pα) reaction with the α particle scattered into the backward hemisphere.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Direct knockout model; (p,α) inclusive reactions at intermediate energy; (p,pα) predictions.
