Abstract

Excitation functions were measured at forward angles for the reaction Mg24(O16, C12)Si28 to the ground and first excited states of Si28. Resonancelike structures were found in both excitation functions with pronounced maxima at center-of-mass energies of ∼ 28, ∼ 31, and ∼ 34 MeV. Angular distributions obtained at these three energies are fitted rather well with PL2(cosθ) with L=21, 23, and 25, respectively.
