Formation of the 17.637 MeV state in ${}_{}{}^9{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{B}$ in the reaction ${}_{}{}^6{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Li}$ $({}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}, \alpha ){}_{}{}^5{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Li}$ (g.s.) has been observed by an $\alpha -\alpha$ coincidence method.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ${}_{}{}^6{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Li}({}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}, \alpha ){}_{}{}^5{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Li}(\mathrm{g}.\mathrm{s}.\mathrm{})\to p+\alpha$; measured $\alpha \alpha$ coincidence as a function of ${}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$ bombarding energy, observed the formation of the ${}_{}{}^9{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{B}$ state.
