Data were taken for ${}_{}{}^{30}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Si}$ + ${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$ elastic scattering and inelastic scattering to the first excited $2^{+}$ state of ${}_{}{}^{30}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Si}$. Good fits to the data were obtained in coupled channels calculations. It was not found possible to discriminate between small and "standard" value of the imaginary diffuseness.
