Abstract

Excitation functions for elastic, inelastic, and four-particle transfer channels of the C12 + Ne20 system were measured from 17 to 35 MeV (c.m.). The elastic scattering data (excitation functions and angular distribution at 24.7 MeV) have been analyzed with the optical model. Elastic and inelastic scattering are also studied in the framework of the coupled-channel Born approximation. The results emphasize the importance of the 2+ state of Ne20 in the description of the absorption. The comparison with the O16 + O16 system is discussed.
