Search for simple configurations in F.18 I. The O17(p,p)O17 reaction

Abstract

The O17(p,p)O17 reaction has been studied in the energy range Ep=1.43.0 MeV. An R matrix analysis of the elastic scattering excitation functions at four angles leads to lp values for 12 resonances. Some Jπ assignments have been made. States with large d52d32 configurations have been located at: 7.404 (Jπ=1+), 7.683 [Jπ=(3)+], and 8.237 (Jπ=4+) MeV.

NUCLEAR REACTION O17(p,p), E=1.43.0 MeV; measured σ(Ep,θ). F18 levels deduced lp, Jπ, Γp. Enriched target.
