Abstract

The reaction 12C(t, Γ0)15N was studied for Et = 1–3.4 MeV (Ex = 15.7–17.6 MeV). The excitation curve displays a strong resonance with a peak cross section of 4.4 ± 0.5 μsr at Et = 2.3 MeV (Ex = 16.69 MeV, Γ = 0.13 MeV) and evidence for additional structure. The excitation curve and the angular distributions were analysed using the complex eigenvalue theory. The parameters of three Jπ = 32+ states and two Jπ32 states resulting from this analysis are given. Our results show the importance of complex configurations in this energy region of the 15N giant resonance.
