Effective interaction between nucleons in the lower and upper sd shell

Abstract

A shell model calculation is performed for the sd shell nuclei with mass numbers 18A20 and 36A38. The energy spectra of the lower and upper sd shell regions can be well reproduced simultaneously using a mass-dependent single effective interaction.
