Abstract

An angular distribution of the analyzing power for He4(p, p)He4 elastic scattering was measured at 17.00 MeV to an absolute precision of ±0.01. The normalization uncertainty was verified by measurements at 11.93 MeV, 112° (lab), where Ay is known to reach 1.0. The data are presented in tabular and graphical form along with predictions from published phase shifts.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS He4(p, p)He4, Ep=11.93 and 17.00 MeV; measured analyzing power Ay(θ) at θc.m.=119°134° and θc.m.=37157° respectively.
