Abstract

The excited states of Tl203,205 were studied using the Tl203,205(n, nγ) reactions. γ-ray angular distributions were measured and spin assignments were made for excited states in both nuclei. An intermediate coupling model calculation was performed in which these nuclei were represented by the coupling of a single hole in the 3s12, 2d32, 2d52, and 1g72 proton shells to the quadrupole vibrations of the appropriate Pb core. The results of these calculations were compared with the experimental results of this and previous works.
