Abstract

The matrix elements which affect the shapes of the β spectra and the βγ angular correlations are calculated for the F20-Na20 mirror Gamow-Teller decays to the 1634 keV level of Ne20. The dominant effects are due to the weak-magnetism and the axial-vector tensor form factors. Matrix elements relevant to the βα correlations for other Na20 decays are also evaluated, with similar conclusions.

RADIOACTIVITY F20, Ne20, Na20, calculated β decay form factors, M1, E2 matrix elements; predict β spectrum shape, βγ and βα angular correlations.
