Abstract
The angular distributions of deuterons for have been measured for 56.3 MeV neutrons incident on targets of and . Transitions corresponding to the pickup of -shell and -shell protons are strong with the latter exhibiting structure indicative of groups of excited states in and . In these have excitation energies of 16.7, 18.5, and 20.5 MeV, and in an average excitation energy of 15.6 MeV. The spectroscopic factors deduced from the measurements are in good agreement with theoretical values where the latter are available.
