Abstract
We have calculated the photoabsorption cross sections due to electric dipole transitions from the ground state of to excited states in the giant-resonance region using a two-hole, one-particle shell model with zero-range Soper and with separable Tabakin residual interactions. The calculated results are compared with available experimental data and the need for further experimental work is suggested.
