Abstract
The Amado model of three-body reactions is applied to investigate the -phase anomalies observed in the scattering experiment for proton energies below 12 MeV. A perturbation calculation using -wave separable potentials and including the spin-isospin dependence of the interacting particles demonstrates that the coupling of the channel to the and other breakup channels is important only in the singlet state. The calculated inelasticity parameter is found to be in good agreement with experiment.
