Abstract

Cross-section and vector-analyzing-power measurements have been performed for the C14(d,t)C13 reaction leading to the ground and first three excited states of C.13 A 14 MeV vector-polarized beam was employed for the measurements. Distorted-wave Born-approximation calculations agree reasonably well with the data. The results suggest a 2p-2h admixture of a (d522,sp2)n configuration having an intensity of 4% and a (2s122,sp2)n configuration with an intensity of 3% in the ground state of C.14
