Abstract

The intrashell quartet states proposed earlier on the basis of intrinsic multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock calculations are reexamined for Ne20 and Mg24 in angular momentum projection formalism and supports in favor of the existence of such states are obtained. Quartet correlation in excited states of Ne22 has also been investigated.
