Abstract

Inelastic electron scattering form factors for the excitation of the 3/2- state at 6.32 MeV in 15N were measured. The experimental data obtained require (a) a momentum-transfer-dependent effective charge, in agreement with that predicted by coupling single-hole wavefunctions to a collective vibration of the 16O core, and (b) an effective magnetic moment having 0.7 times the single-particle value.
