Observation of highly neutron-rich Cl43 and Mn59

Abstract

We report the observation and mass measurement of Cl43 and Mn59 by the (He3, B8), five-nucleon pickup reaction. Mass excess values of -23.14 ± 0.06 for Cl43 and -55.49 ± 0.03 MeV for Mn59 have been measured.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Ca48, Ni64(He3, B8); E=74 MeV; measured mass excess Cl43, Mn59.
