Abstract

Angular distributions of transitions to low-lying states in Ne20 have been measured for the reaction C12(C12,α) in 62.5-keV steps for 6.5<~Ec.m.<11 MeV. Two new nonstatistical structures are identified at Ec.m.=7.71 and 9.84 MeV, with Jπ=4+ and 8+, respectively. These observations support the quasimolecular interpretations of the low-energy structure in the C12-C12 interaction.
