Abstract

Peripheral collisions between O16 and Pb208 are investigated at a laboratory energy of 315 MeV. The relative cross sections are remarkably similar to published cross sections measured at 33.6-GeV laboratory energy. They are compared with statistical models involving dinuclear systems and projectile fragmentation.
