Data for the exotic reaction ${}_{}{}^{48}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ca}$(${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$, ${}_{}{}^{15}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{C}$)${}_{}{}^{49}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ti}$ are shown to be explained satisfactorily in the picture of successive transfer reactions, with a calculation which treats the finite-range effect exactly.
