Abstract

Pion scattering from 3He is investigated in the context of a simple reaction model. It is shown that for energies below around 200 MeV the spin flip mode can dominate the 3He(π, π0)3H differential cross-section at most angles, and contribute up to 50% of the total charge exchange cross-section.
