Abstract

The C12(C12, α)Ne20 reaction has been studied at bombarding energies of 36.0, 36.5, and 37.0 MeV. States up to 16 MeV excitation in Ne20 were identified. Several previously unreported levels were observed, a number of which are excellent candidates for missing unnatural-parity states. We summarize existing spin-parity information for several "elusive" states.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12(C12, α), EC12=36.0, 36.5, 37.0 MeV, enriched target, measured σ(θ); deduced Ne20 levels.
