Cross Section Ratios for (π±, πN) Reactions on O16 near the Δ(1236) Resonance

Abstract

Ratios of cross sections for 200-MeV π± reactions on O16 leading to mirror levels in O15 and N15, observed by their γ decays, were measured and compared. For the first 32 levels, the ratios are (O15N15)π=1.7±0.4 and (O15N15)π+=1(1.8±0.4), indicating charge symmetry.
