Abstract

The energies and intensities of γ rays and internal-conversion electrons from the electron-capture decay of At211 and from the α decays of At211 and Po211 have been measured. A new first-forbidden electron-capture branch of At211 is reported. First-forbidden electron-capture transition rates are discussed with reference to the 2g92 and 1i112 neutron states in Po211. γ rays corresponding to the l-forbidden M1 transitions ν(3p32)1ν(2f52)1 in Pb207 and ν(1i112)ν(2g92) in Po211 have been observed. The α spectra of At211 and Po211 and the energies and relative intensities of γ rays from the electron-capture decay of Bi207 have been remeasured. A level scheme incorporating all of these decays is given.

RADIOACTIVITY At211 [from Bi209(α, 2n)]; measured Eγ, Iγ, Ice, Iα; deduced logft, EC branching, α branching. Po211, Bi207, Pb207 deduced levels, J, π, ICC, γ multipolarity, γ branching. Ge(Li), Si(Li), Au-Si detectors.
