Abstract

The branching ratio [Ne19F*19(1554 keV)+e++ν][Ne19F19+e++ν] as inferred from observing a subsequent γ transition in F19 is found to be (8.2±2.0) × 106. Uncertainties about possible O19 contamination lead to the conservative interpretation of this result as an upper limit for the branching ratio. The implications for a recently suggested study of inelastic neutrino scattering from F19 are discussed.

RADIOACTIVITY Ne19; measured β decay branching ratio to 1554 keV level.
