Abstract

The pertinence of the observed features of the O17(α, d)F19 transitions to the first two 72+ and first two 112+ states in F19 to rotational-model and shell-model descriptions of this nucleus is outlined.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS O17(α, d), E=47.5 MeV; measured σ(Ed, θ) for 72+ and 112+ states; DWBA analysis with (s d)3 microscopic wave functions.
