Abstract
Angular distributions have been measured for the (, ) and the (, ) reactions at laboratory bombarding energies of 32 and 36 MeV, and excitation functions have been measured at 88° in the center of mass. All final-state nuclei are members of the same isomultiplet and according to charge independence, the two reactions should have equal cross sections. Large differences in the cross sections of the two reactions are observed indicating that charge-dependent effects are important. For example at 32 MeV the ratio of the two cross sections, (, )/(, ), oscillates with angle, varying in magnitude from 0.17 to greater than 1.65.
