Abstract

The effect of two-body correlations on the calculation of the bremsstrahlung weighted cross section σ−1 is investigated for 4He, 16O and 40Ca by making partial sums of the linked cluster expansion. It is found that σ−1 is sensitive to long-range correlations but is quite insensitive to the inclusion of short-range correlations.
