Abstract

Some results of deformed Hartree-Fock calculations for s-d shell nuclei are presented. A phenomenological effective interaction due to Gogny has been used which consists of two Gaussians plus a delta interaction depending on the density as ϱ13. The trend of deformation properties in this region is rather well reproduced.

The exchange part of the Coulomb energy is given in this expression in the Slater approximation [34]. Because the proton–proton Coulomb interaction is of finite range, we can use the multipole expansion method to calculate the direct part of the Coulomb potential [35,36]. The proton and neutron density distributions of the participating nuclei are obtained by self-consistent Hartree–Fock calculations [37], in terms of the used Skyrme-SLy4 NN interaction.
