Abstract

Measurements on the polarized-proton capture reaction N15(p, γ0)O16 indicate a broad E2 resonance which lies above the giant E1 resonance of O16. The measurements show that the E2 radiation for the (γ, p0) channel of O16 exhausts approximately 30% of the quadrupole sum rule.
