Parity determination of high-spin yrast levels in 156Er☆

Abstract

Spectra of internal-conversion electrons from the 148Sm(12C, 4n)156Er reaction have been used to show that an unusual odd-spin band in 156Er, through which the yrast cascade proceeds at high spin, has negative parity.
